Return to the fields of Ilium

Today we were supposed to be 4, but ended up with 3, to play a game of Midgard using my Achaeans and Trojans, so randomly we worked out that Phil and I were running the Trojans, and poor Rhod got all the Greeks!

The Battle lines drawn up!!

Rhod placed his right opposite me, with 2 skirmisher units and some Spearmen, under Odysseus.
His centre was spears, he held his Myrmidons to the rear, all under Diomedes and Agamemnon.
His Chariotry was on his left, supported by another Skirmisher unit...and Achilles!
I faced them with Paris commanding 2 Skirmisher units.
Phil and I had a line of Trojan spearmen backed up with Lycians and Thracians, led by Sarpedon and Aeneas.
Hector was with the Chariotry facing Achilles, with Polydamus.
The Achaeans advanced and were charged by Hectors' Chariots .
In the centre, the 2 sides were keeping their distance.
I had Paris lead his bowmen to outflank the Greek line.
Hector destroyed an Achaean Chariot unit, but Polydamus's chariots were being beaten by their opponents.
Achilles led his reserve Chariots against Hector's, already tired from their previous battle.
Achilles won easily...
Hector was left facing the wrath of Achilles!.
On the quiet left of the Trojan line, the Achaeans were engaged in a long range archery duel.
The Trojan centre advanced towards the Achaean line.
We hoped they might fail some of their second move die rolls.
Phil sent his archers to help Polydamus' chariots, Polydamus having been killed in the melee!!
The Chariots were destroyed, but the archers continued the fight.
The Achaean chariots were now damaged, so fought at half effect!
Hector had been rescued by the reserve chariots and they beat Achilles' chariots.
Achilles fled back to his spearmen, the coward!
In the centre Rhod managed to get 2 of his 3 charging units in, Phil's spearmen were also engaged.
On my wing we both won and lost a fight of the spears.
On my left, The Achaean archers charged Paris, but were destroyed.
Their other unit of Archers was destroyed by Trojan arrows!
Phil, too, defeated the Achaean archers with a swift charge.
Paris moved his archers to prevent the Achaean spearmen on their right outflanking my engaged spearmen.
Our dice were ok, poor Rhod's let him down, and only the Trojan Royal Guard continued to be pushed back, elsewhere, the Trojans were winning!
On Phil's right, his last Chariot unit had won and were supporting their spearmen.
One battle ended with both sides being destroyed simultaneously!
Agamemnon beat another Trojan spear unit.
Another pair of units destroyed each other!
On the left Paris was sweeping onto the Achaean flank.
On the right, Phil was driving the Achaeans too.
At this point we found we were all out of Reputation (the end of our phase)
Another Achaean spear unit had been driven back into its supporting unit and was destroyed. This left The Trojans on -1 Rep, but the Achaeans on -7!
A rare win for Troy!
