New Tanks in France

Today we had a couple of games of What a Tanker at our club, and this time we were using a new bunch of vehicles Phil had painted (much neater than mine!)

In the first game, Phil, Lawrence and Rhod were using M-24s! AKA Chaffee (in British service)

I used one of my M-18 TDs...as there were only 3 of them!

I worked out the German force, based on my own points system and it turned out to be a single Tiger I E!

The Table for Today! Mostly Lawrence's, but with a few of my fields too!

We diced for the direction of play and were going end-to end.
The Tiger started in a corner, looking menacing.
My Hellcat was in the corner along from it.
The three M-24s were along the rest of our edge.
Phil was directly opposite the Tiger's corner.
The Tiger began by going to cover behind a field.
My TD, having initially moved toward the Tiger to attract its attention, used its speed to retreat and reposition behind Rhod's M-24...
...which had (bravely!)advanced and...
gone behind a wall in sight of the German!
The Tiger moved slightly to look for the M-24s!
Lawrence now approached the Tiger cautiously...
Phil skirted down a hedge looking for a better shot.
He stopped at the end of the hedge...
...and tried to acquire his target.
My M-18 raced down the road...
I parked in behind Rhod's M-24.
The Tiger advanced to the road obviously having heard all those Cadillac V8 engines to its right!
My M-18 got a bead on the big beast and I fired a shot...
...A Hit!
I damaged his Drive train!
Phil, and the other M-24s fired as soon as they could...
...Though their fire was generally ineffective.
Rhod was no better, his rounds bouncing off the Tiger's thick armour.
Lawrence finally got a good hit...
...once again in the drive train.

After a pause, as my gunner looked for the right shell(!)...I got another shot.
Again I hit the drive train...
...and blew its track off!
All the M-24s were firing as fast as possible...
...Lawrence got a final shot which...
Persuaded the German crew to bail out!
The victorious M-24s...
... Lawrence's commander still reading his Paper!

In our second game, Lawrence brought out his Churchills!
...and they wiped the floor with Rhod and my StuG IIIgs!

We couldn't get through that thick armour!!!
