Watch that firefly!

Today we had a couple of games of 'What a Tanker' at the club! - We returned to Normandy, and the British sector, so we could use Cromwells and a Sherman Firefly. The best match points wise from the Panzerwaffe was a Tiger!

The Terrain we would fight over.

The forces involved, in this first game Phil took the Firefly while Lawrence and myself had the Cromwells. The Tiger was run by my solo rules of course.
Lawrence was on our right...
...Phil, as leader, started in the middle...
...leaving me on our left.
The Tiger started opposite us.
A view from the German side at game start.
Lawrence (foreground) and Phil moved forward aggressively.
I, too went forward trying to get behind the big cat.
The Panzer moved forward, carefully scanning for targets.
The second turn the Tiger went first and it went into cover.
Lawrence, like me was aiming to outflank the beast.
Phil set up opposite it behind a small wall.
The Tiger spotted Phil and loosed a round from his 88mm.
Fortunately it missed!
I cut round onto the Tiger's flank, not really an advantage as it has Heavy Armour.
The Tiger got the first shot next turn...
Poor Phil's tank got toasted!
Our 75's were ranged on the Tiger, but we either missed or our shots bounced off its thick hide!
Lawrence had a near escape...
His crew was rattled!
I tried racing behind the Tiger but it turned and fired!
7 hits!
My poor tank was obliterated!
Lawrence decided to retreat off table and lick his wounds!
That was an easy win for the Tiger, we felt so miffed we decided to go again!

Again, Lawrence got the right and a Cromwell!
Phil was in the middle...but in a Cromwell!
It was me in the Firefly ( I won the dice off) on the left again!
The ever victorious Tiger started in the same place.
I moved as quick as my overloaded Sherman would go.
I was able to get into a position behind a rock, with a line of sight to the Tiger.
Unfortunately, this meant he was in sight of me!
Fortunately the big gun missed!- my tank retreated behind the rock!
The Tiger started getting 75mm rounds landing near or bouncing off again.
The Tiger turned and shot at Lawrence!
Again, he lost 2 Temporary damage.
Phil was working round towards me, shooting at the Tiger.
Lawrence had moved out of the Tigers front arc while he tried to get his command dice back!
With the Tiger distracted by the Cromwells, I crept forward...
My first shots missed...
...but the Tiger's crew was a little shaken!!!
Phil continued bouncing shots off the Tiger, cleverly keeping it buttoned down so it couldn't spot easily.
The Tiger, unsure where the fire was coming from, fell back.
Lawrence's shots too made the Tiger retreat, but it suffered no damage, in fact it got its lost command die back!
We had the Tiger in an arc of fire.
Phil pushed forward, covering Lawrence as he withdrew into the same field as Phil.
Next turn, Lawrence got 4 move actions, and raced round the flank of the Tiger.
I, however, finally got the range!
Revenge! - we lost no tanks too! (Though Lawrence's was a bit scratched!)

Fun games as always!
